Late Sri A D Thimmaiah, a school teacher and Late Smt. Gangamma are the founders of  Sri umapragathi group of institutions in 90’s with eight high schools, one pre university college and one degree college in Tumkur, Davangere and Shivmoga district with the motto of providing education to backward communities.

Sri Umapragathi First Grade college was established in the year 1993 with the aim of providing education to socially, economically and academically weaker sections of the society, which is situated in the city outskirts of Kyathasandra, Tumkur 3 kms. distance to Siddaganga Mutt. Striving for providing quality education with minimal fees.  

The institution is steadily progressing under the able guidance and administration of our present Secretary Mr. Manu A
